Primary Music

Music is an important influence in all our lives. It can invoke powerful feelings and memories and well as helping people make sense of the world. At George Mitchell School we give children the opportunity become familiar with various musical instruments and express their own musical ideas. We use the Waltham Forest Charanga Curriculum to support our teaching and learning in music.

Enrichment

At George Mitchell Primary children take part in a ‘sing off’ which is termly music festival that gives children the opportunity to showcase their vocal talents as a group and take part in a whole school event.

Music also forms an important part of our Enrichment offer which includes performance, short specialist courses, an enthusiastic choir and instrument tuition.
