Primary Music

Music is an important influence in all our lives. It can invoke powerful feelings and memories and well as helping people make sense of the world. At George Mitchell School we give children the opportunity become familiar with various musical instruments and express their own musical ideas. We use the Waltham Forest Charanga Curriculum to support our teaching and learning in music.

Enrichment

At George Mitchell Primary children take part in a ‘sing off’ which is termly music festival that gives children the opportunity to showcase their vocal talents as a group and take part in a whole school event.

Piano Fun Club works with George Mitchell Primary Phase to offer instrument tuition (guitar, piano, violin) for children in Years 3-6 during school hours. Please contact us or Piano Fun Club directly if you would like your child to take part.

Music also forms an important part of our Enrichment Courses which includes performance, short specialist courses, an enthusiastic choir and both group and individual instrument tuition.
