Why choose GM Primary?

George Mitchell is a fabulous choice for your child.

Our school is wonderful and truly special. Each child is cared for and treasured. We know our families very well and we place the children at the very heart of everything we do. We are a calm, happy place and everyone here loves coming to school. We live our values (Perseverance, Respect, Independence, Diversity, Excellence) and above all else we value kindness.

Our teachers are superb and our systems for assessing and identifying next steps for individual children are very strong. Our EYFS provision is practical, nature-filled and engaging. We believe in the power of education to transform lives and to bring joy. We are advocates of lifelong learning and this is as true for parents and teachers as it is for our students. As a result our results are excellent and well above national averages in every area and children leave the Primary Phase in Year 6 as confident, capable and happy learners.

Our school building is brand new, light and airy and is at the end of a no-through road with a lovely park and farmyard steps away. It is quiet, pollution-free, well-designed and filled with the sounds of nature.

We are passionate about our curriculum and the creative opportunities afforded to our children in every year group. Our students take part in amazing projects and enrichment activities. We have high aspiration for our children – for example, our GM Aspire programme touches every age group in our school to inspire children to see Oxbridge and other top universities as a place that they belong. Please look at our galleries and Twitter feeds for a peek into the George Mitchell world!

We would love to invite you to visit our school. We hold tours in September, October and January but we are always happy to accommodate a visit at any time. Come and see what makes our school a fabulous place to work and to learn.

In full lockdown when we are not able to accommodate visitors, we are more than happy to take you on a Zoom tour or to answer any questions you have by Zoom or by phone.
